Data supplement to: A theory for current mass flows in Martian gullies driven by carbon dioxide sublimation

2024-02-06 09:42:02 Open - freely retrievable

The data presented in this package includes (1) experimental data collected from experiments with CO2-driven granular flows under Martian atmospheric conditions. These experiments were conducted in the Mars Chamber at the Open University, Milton Keynes, UK in the autumn of 2021, and (2) numerical model results from a 1D atmosphere and subsurface column model that uses physical schemes extracted from the Mars Planetary Climate Model (PCM). Data is only given for experiments and model runs that are presented in the manuscript. The data presented and described here is a supplement to the following manuscript: A theory for current mass flows in Martian gullies driven by carbon dioxide sublimation, Roelofs, L., Conway, S.J., de Haas, T., Dundas, C., Lewis, S.R., McElwaine, J., Pasquon, P., Raack, J. Sylvest, M., Patel, M.R. (2024), Accepted by Communications Earth and Environment The data is provided in two subfolders. One for the experimental data and one for the numerical model results. Detailed information about the files in these subfolders as well as information on how the data is processed is given in the explanatory file ReadMe_Yoda_CO2DrivenFlowsMartianGulliesExperimentsModel.txt.
