Active wetland restoration kickstarts vegetation establishment, but natural development promotes greater plant diversity

2025-02-14 15:30:02 Open - freely retrievable

This datafile is part of a study that shows that actively steering wetland restoration by introducing target species and preventing herbivory accelerates vegetation development when compared with natural development. Data was collected on Marker Wadden in the Netherlands from September 2018 to August 2023 (see methods below for more details). This file includes (see codebook below for details) data obtained from field measurements on Marker Wadden (Netherlands, datafile ‘Alderson et al. vegetation’ and ‘Alderson et al. organic matter’). The datafiles contain data related to vegetation and soil elevation over time and organic matter. Not all data presented in the data files were used in the manuscript, but are provided as additional information to interested researchers.
